"Bio mechanics/body movements (walking, running, throwing, climbing... and the golf swing) should be performed with the minimum of conscious effort." For example: The next time you are preparing to carry out your golf swing, listen carefully! Can you hear yourself incessantly telling your body what to do?
But why is it that we do this?We already know that our muscles and joints don’t understand spoken language and hand-eye coordination isn't something we learn logically. "Of course not!" "Body movements are 5% conscious, 95% subconscious!"
To clear this up a little, try this simple task… Open your hand and then close it into a fist again, and repeat this opening and closing several times. This is of course a conscious movement, is it not? Now grip your wrist firmly with the other hand and repeat this opening and closing... · Can you find words to explain what is happening in your wrist?
· Is it your fingers that are manipulating these muscles, tendons etc...
· Do you think you could open and close your hand without them? "Once again, of course not!"
Experts in this field indicate that thousands of individual body parts (muscles, joints, tendons etc) are used during the simplest of motor skills. The body orchestrates these movements using a subconsciously controlled feedback system that registers balance and rhythm. Golfers would excel if they could learn to trust this highly developed system which has already been finely tuned through the wonders of evolution. With the minimum of conscious effort we too can find the optimal inbred dynamics for the golf swing.
"Learn to trust this system and you too can be the master of your own golf swing."Please read further to reap the benefits of my golf lesson journey which has resulted in the developement of this wonderful method to improve your game. If I can coach my twelve-year-old daughter, Leela, to achieving a handicap of 7 and to the winning of our ladies 2006 & 2007 club championships using this, imagine what you could do! Read about her title clinching performances.
Quite simply, I didn’t give Leela a stack of instruction on how she should be moving her body parts for the swing. We used a more laid back and fool-proof method of learning. You can read all about this on the many pages of this website. This information informs, refreshes and frees golfers of all abilities to enjoy this game at such satisfying levels that they will wonder why they ever did it any differently. Once you learn this technique you will not be able to, or will not want to consciously think about swing biomechanics ever again. "Let me help you get started!"2007 is going to be another wonderful season for Leela and myself. Come and join us! There are over 100 pages of content on this online golf lesson site for you to browse through. This will enable you to get a feel for this wonderful system. I would however like to direct you to the 'Private Member Page', which I have developed to personally mentor you through each and every stage of this remarkable learning journey.
